Step Into the backyard

Ric’s Upstairs is our most popular space for exclusive parties. Catering from 20 all the way up to 100 guests this is the ultimate space for birthdays, going away parties or anything you can dream up. With access to a private bar, private DJ Booth and private smoker’s balconyoverlooking Brunswick St Mall, you would be hard pressed to find a more decked out function space. If you want to really get the party we started, we can also book our resident DJs for $85/hr. This makes such a difference in the atmosphere.

Guests walking into a DJ hyping up the crowd at 8pm rather than just a spotify playlist is easily my personal favourite event hack. We also have platter and full menu availability until 9pm Sun-Thurs and 10pm on Fri and Sat nights. If you are feeling generous and would like to gift a bar tab to your guests we can absolutely organise that and we can put whatever limitations on it that make you comfy eg.

Bottled Beer + RTDs Only. An important note about Rics Upstairs is that there are no beer taps so if you’re craving a brewski, best to go to backyard or front bars to quench your thirst.

Rics front bar is the original iteration of Rics. Before there was the backyard or upstairs there was the front bar. Affectionately referred to as the karaoke bar now because of just how many bangerz are belted on a regular basis, the front bar is perfect for an intimate, non-exclusive function with a small group of up to 20 people.

Because this room is a thoroughfare between the front beer garden, exclusivity is not possible. This room particularly pops off on weeknights for impromptu nights out.

The backyard is our most iconic space and if you’ve been there, you’ll know exactly why. With room for well over 250 guests, we routinely play host to large uni parties day or night. Although typically nocturnal creatures we have been known to rouse the Valley at 10am if the event calls for it! No time is off limits (as long as its legal =P)

If you are wanting to utilise the backyard for a function during our regular operating hours 6pm-3:30am Thursday – Sunday then exclusivity is a tall order but if you’d like private access to the backyard during a time we are normally closed then give us a call and let us see what magic we can whip up!

The backyard’s features are access to our full bar, use of not one but two colossal LED screens and access of course to our main stage for use by bands or DJs. On the LED screens, past functions have played photo slideshows, others have debuted music videos, looped promo material or relayed their sets live from the dancefloor (yep, we can do that). The stage is fully equipped for full bands to play, including drum kit and we can make sure a sound tech is on during your event if you really want to impress with live music.
